Celebration of Women (April 28)

Women of all ages, from pre-teen to WWII brides, are invited to “A Celebration of Women–From Pearls to Sneakers”in Bruner Hall on Saturday, April 28, 11:30-1:45. Behind-the-scenes brainstorming for the event has resulted in a program concoction including music, dances, a luncheon, storytelling, displays and a vintage fashion show.

Several young women will model vintage treasures from FPC women’s trunks and closets. The apparel dates back half a century or more and includes items from elaborate formals, a 20′s bathing suit, wedding dress, lo-cut bell bottoms, to poodle skirts and party hats.

Tina Purintun, once a performer and choreograher for USU’s “Celebrate America” show, brings valuable experience in event planning to the April program. She’ ll coach the models and narrate the fashion show. Nan Milleson is creating a Power-Point reminisence about a history of women in sports. A group of FPC singers will perform hit songs from three different decades.

“Valet parking” will be provided as needed. Be sure to let us know if you need a ride!
